My Three Product Designs

Games Cover for the game: House Of Nightmares

A Poster advertising House Of Nightmares

A Website Design

Evaluation:

I have created a product cover for the game, a poster and a website design. I put the title at the top of the product cover, that way it doesn't go over the imagery for the game, since on some game covers they have the title go slightly over the imagery, but not a lot, so the imagery is the main focus and sometimes they might have the title under the character, at the bottom and at the top. I did use the Who Asks Satan font for the title, i also used the Simple Chalk font for the subtitle, like i was planning to. However on the website design for the main text font, i didn't use the Big Moore font since i couldn't download it or find it so i used a font called Adobe Ming Std. One thing i added to the product cover was ink splatters, to have the feel of the monsters being inky and i thought it might look a bit boring so i added a monster to the corridor, so its like the main character doesn't know so he's going to be surprised when he does and it adds a sense of fear and suspense, since if you were playing as the character, you wouldn't know whats waiting round the corner.

In my designs I didnt put in the pegi 15 but i did say i was going to use the pegi 15, this is so its aimed my target audience and it's not for kids. Another thing I added that I didnt say I would is that I'd add the games console itll be released on since games have a green part at the top for Xbox and it has xbox one on it, so I have added this to the product so it looks like an actual game cover.
I didnt put the ink splatters on the drawing version, so I decided to add it, so it didnt look too basic and still gave off the blood effect but black blood, because of the monsters. I only added to ink splatters on the product cover because I didnt want it to look too complicated or mess, so it's still detailed but not simple. I didnt get to make the flooring different because it was difficult trying to get that to work in indesign so i left it black and made the lines white so you could still see the corridor. I kept the wall grey, but I wanted it to have more texture so it seemed more realistic.

On the poster I put the product in the middle and added the text underneath it, I didn't put this on my designs, since I was going to use the same image but instead of the image/cover taking up the whole thing and then having the text over it, I added a background and made the product a bit smaller, I got this idea from the sword and shield poster and advertisement, since they used the same thing and then I added the date underneath rather than across since it would be difficult to see. I made the background gradient like so it was like the cover, since there was grey on one side and black on the other and I was thinking of having the cover image as the background but it wouldnt be as strong since I wouldve turned the opacity down. Then I added ink splatters around the outside, this is because there was some on my product and this added more to the image and gave it more of a horror feel, since it's like a blood splatter.
For the website I added monsters to the background, so it's like they are hiding in the shadows, like in the game and I added the character on the side, so it was like having a scene in the background of the page, like on certain websites and I added ink splatters to the black border so it didnt look mess or seem like there was too much on there and I made it cover the main characters face, so it's like the monster has been killed, showing off a bit of the games aspects. I made the text white in all three products, this is because the black would blend in.
